Drain Repairs vs Drain Relining

Drain repair and drain relining are not interchangeable terms. The right option depends on the type of defect, pipe material, access, depth and how much of the drainage run is affected.

Excavated drain repair

Excavation provides direct access to replace or reconstruct a damaged section. It may be required where a pipe has collapsed, moved significantly, has unsuitable geometry or cannot be prepared for lining.

Drain relining

Relining creates a new internal sleeve within an existing pipe. It can reduce excavation for suitable cracks, joints and general deterioration, but the original pipe must be in a condition and shape that can accept the liner.

Local patch repair

A local patch may be used for an isolated defect. CCTV investigation and preparation are important so the patch is positioned correctly and bonds to the pipe.
